Starry Bocchi The Rock

While the first season of the Bocchi anime may have ended, the passion of Bocchi fans in Japan is still alive and strong. However, there has been a recent request for fans to refrain from visiting the real-life locations featured in Bocchi the Rock!, particularly the Starry live house.

The popularity of the Bocchi series has led many fans to embark on pilgrimages to the actual places depicted in the anime. Unfortunately, this has caused disruptions to the operations of some establishments.

Bocchi the Rock!’s Real-Life Locations

Bocchi the Rock! primarily takes place in Shimokitazawa, affectionately known as Shimokita, a trendy neighborhood in Tokyo famous for its vintage clothing stores, cafes, and live music venues.

Even before the premiere of the anime, Shimokita has always been a vibrant spot for trendsetters. However, with the explosive popularity of Bocchi, the area has seen an influx of anime fans flocking to explore the locations themselves.

During the anime’s airing, many fans shared their journeys to Shimokita to visit the places that were featured in the series. For example, the wall where the Kessoku Band had their photoshoot is based on a real mural located near a park.

The main street leading to the Starry live house has also attracted numerous fans. Additionally, Shimokitazawa Station, which serves as the main gateway to the neighborhood, has become a popular destination for fans.

However, the most visited location is the Shelter live house, which serves as the inspiration for Starry in the anime. Despite having a different name, Shelter closely resembles Starry, from the iconic staircase to the interior layout.

Bocchi Fans Asked to Refrain From Visiting Live House

Due to Shelter’s limited capacity as a small live music venue, it is not equipped to handle the influx of Bocchi the Rock! pilgrims. Consequently, the venue’s operations have been affected by enthusiastic fans who wish to experience one of the anime’s iconic locations.

In response to this situation, the official Twitter account of Bocchi the Rock! released a statement urging fans to avoid disrupting the live house’s operations. The statement specifically requests fans to refrain from visiting in large groups, obstructing pathways, or causing unnecessary noise.

Furthermore, fans are encouraged to not inconvenience other live music clubs and establishments in the area. Instead, they are urged to purchase tickets to the live houses and enjoy the real-life performances rather than treating the area as a mere tourist attraction.

Let’s hope that Bocchi fans who embark on these pilgrimages will behave respectfully to avoid any potential bans on future visits.
