It has been 25 years since the original Full Metal Panic series came to life, and fans have been eagerly waiting for new content. Well, the wait is almost over! Prepare yourselves for an exciting sequel that will continue the story of Sousuke and Kaname as a married couple.

The news comes directly from Kadokawa, giving Full Metal Panic fans the reassurance they needed. The original light novel will have a sequel called Full Metal Panic! Family, which is set to celebrate the franchise’s 25th anniversary.

Full Metal Panic! Family is scheduled for release in January 2024. While there is no official confirmation yet regarding an English translation of the light novel, fans remain hopeful for an international release based on the franchise’s popularity.

This sequel will pick up where the original series left off, but with a significant time jump. Kaname and Sousuke will be depicted as adults, leading a married life and raising their own family. A captivating key visual has been released, featuring the couple with their two children.

For those unfamiliar with Full Metal Panic, it’s the perfect opportunity to catch up on the original series. Launched in September 1998, the story continued through the light novel until 2011. With its successful anime and manga adaptations, Full Metal Panic has solidified its status as a classic mecha title.
