Do you remember Rurouni Kenshin, the beloved classic manga and anime series? Well, guess what? The anime is making a grand comeback with Season 2 next year, focusing on the thrilling Kyoto Arc! The first season of the revival anime left us hanging with a major cliffhanger, leaving fans eagerly anticipating what’s coming next. And now, it’s official – Season 2 is happening!

The new season of Rurouni Kenshin’s revival anime is set to premiere in 2024. Although the exact release date is yet to be revealed, we know for sure that Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Disturbance will delve into the intense Kyoto Arc from the original manga. Excitingly, the voices behind two key characters in this arc have been confirmed: Makoto Furukawa as Makoto Shishio and Daiki Yamashita as Sojiro Seta.

So, what do you need to know about the Rurouni Kenshin reboot? Directed by Hideyo Yamamoto and produced by Liden Films, this new anime series showcases the incredible talent of Terumi Nishii as character designer, Hideyuki Kurata as series composition, and Yu Takami as composer. The voice cast includes popular actors such as Soma Saito as Kenshin Himura, Rie Takahashi as Kaoru Kamiya, Makoto Koichi as Yahiko Myojin, Taku Yashiro as Sagara Sanosuke, Yuma Uchida as Aoshi Shinomori, and Saori Onishi as Megumi Takani. The story takes place in downtown Tokyo, during the 11th year of the Meiji Era. Kaoru Kamiya, the master of the “Kamiya Kasshin-ryu” sword style, is in pursuit of the legendary “Hitokiri Battosai” – a swordsman claiming to have mastered her style. One fateful night, Kaoru encounters a man holding a sword. She questions him eagerly, but he displays no desire to fight. Could this be the famed Hitokiri Battosai? The man introduces himself as Kenshin Himura, a wandering swordsman known as a “Rurouni.”
